Study: Analysis of labor inclusion opportunities for Venezuelan migrants in the Dominican Republic

According to official figures from the General Directorate of Migration, more than 114,000 Venezuelans reside in the Dominican Republic, of which, until 2021, it was estimated that 89% were in irregular immigration status.

In early 2021, the Dominican government approved the implementation of the Normalization Plan for the Venezuelan population. This plan seeks to provide a migratory regularization document that allows their integration into the productive sector.

To evaluate the possibilities of integrating this population into the development of the Dominican Republic, from the International Organization for Migration and thanks to the financing of the Citi Foundation, we present this analysis of the market systems in the country that identifies productive sectors in which the inclusion of migrants can mean a great opportunity for their growth.
